While the HERO (2024) also lacks in-camera stabilization, users can apply post-stabilization through the QUIK app. Additionally, advancements in sensor and lens technology mean the HERO (2024) captures sharper, more dynamic images, making it the better option for new buyers.

Another major factor is microSD card compatibility. The HERO (2024) supports up to 1TB, while the HERO3 Black is limited to 64GB. In today’s market, with affordable 1TB microSD cards, the HERO3 Black’s capacity might feel limiting, making the HERO (2024) more convenient for extended recording.
