Key Factors
Shooting performance / Features
There are differences in the frequently used 4K and Full HD fps
Body functions
Shooting functions are similar, but having a front light is the key point
Size / Weight differences
Since the sizes are almost the same, HERO (2024) is slightly lighter
Differences in Shooting Performance
LIT HERO (2025) can be considered almost the successor to HERO (2024).
As a successor, a major point is that LIT HERO (2025) now supports up to 60fps in both Full HD and 4K resolutions, which was a weakness in HERO (2024). Even for hobby use, the difference in visual quality between 30fps and 60fps is easily noticeable, and the added 60fps support also allows slow motion playback to expand up to 2x, which is significant.
In terms of shooting functions, both models are almost the same. Image stabilization is added in the app, and neither supports loop recording nor live streaming.
Body Functions Differ More Than Expected
At first glance, the body functions of both models appear to be nearly the same, but in actual use there are major differences.
The first big one is the magnetic mount. In addition to the built-in mount, LIT HERO (2025) supports a magnetic mount, making attachment and removal very easy. This overcomes the common weakness of action cameras being "troublesome to mount."
Additionally, LIT HERO (2025) features a front light, which is one of this model’s distinctive points. This improvement allows it to be used even at night, expanding its range of use as a 24-hour action camera.
Body Size and Design Are Nearly the Same
Both are compact models without a front display and are considered budget versions, so their sizes are almost identical. Their weights differ by only 7g, meaning there is little need to compare them based on size or weight.
Instead, the bigger differences are in shooting capabilities and body functions. When comparing the two, you should focus on these aspects to choose the model that best suits your needs.
