In terms of shooting performance, both models support a maximum resolution of 4K, but the HERO6 Black supports 4K at 60fps, while the HERO (2024) only supports 30fps. Both models can handle 2.7K at 60fps, but for Full HD, the HERO (2024) is limited to 30fps, whereas the HERO6 Black supports up to 240fps. This makes the HERO6 Black superior in terms of frame rate.
Additionally, in shooting features, the HERO6 Black outshines the HERO (2024). The most notable difference is image stabilization. While the HERO6 Black does not include HyperSmooth, it features standard built-in stabilization. On the other hand, the HERO (2024) relies on the QUIK app for post-processed stabilization. Furthermore, the HERO6 Black supports loop recording, which is not available on the HERO (2024).

Another notable difference is micro SD card capacity. The HERO (2024) supports up to 1TB, while the HERO6 Black is limited to 128GB. For shooting 4K videos, 128GB can run out quickly, making the 1TB support of the HERO (2024) a more practical option.
As for the front display, the HERO6 Black features a monochrome display. However, with the increased functionality available through the QUIK app, this difference is not as significant nowadays.
