The most notable upgrade in the GoPro HERO6 is the introduction of GoPro's proprietary SoC "GP1" for the first time. The significantly improved processing power has enabled:

- Full HD/240fps
This allows for a substantial increase in frame rates for high-resolution recording.
While the fps for 4K video is limited to 60fps in models prior to the HERO10, which features the next-generation "GP2," the 240fps for Full HD is still the same even in the latest HERO12.
Despite being a 2017 series, the HERO6 remains relevant in terms of recording quality.
