Features
Integration of a New Large Image Sensor
Up until HERO10, the image sensor size was "1/2.3 inches". However, with the HERO11, a larger "1/1.9-inch" image sensor has been integrated. This not only enables wide-angle shooting with enhanced realism but also improves low-light performance with the new Night Effect feature.
"HyperSmooth 5.0" with Automatic Boost and Horizon Lock
The HERO11 series comes equipped with the upgraded "HyperSmooth 5.0" stabilization, featuring the notable "Horizon Lock" function. This feature ensures that the footage remains level with the horizon even when the GoPro camera is physically rotated, enhancing the impact and stability of footage captured during dynamic actions.
The automatic boost function adjusts the stabilization level automatically based on movement and speed, resulting in even higher stabilization effectiveness.
Introduction of the Compact "HERO11 Black Mini" for Video Recording
While GoPro's main series has long adhered to a horizontal camera-like design, the HERO11 series introduces the nearly square-shaped "HERO11 Black Mini". In terms of compactness, it can be considered the successor to the HERO5 Session.
Compared to the base model HERO11 Black, the HERO11 Black Mini lacks a built-in display, features an integrated battery, and does not include photo shooting capabilities. However, its base specifications match those of the full-sized HERO11. It's an ideal choice for those seeking a smaller GoPro, suitable for helmet mounts and similar applications.

GoPro HERO11 Battery: Compatibility & Battery Life
The HERO11 series features two models: the HERO11 Black with a removable battery, and the HERO11 Black Mini with a built-in battery. The Black uses a 1,720mAh standard Enduro battery that excels in cold weather, ensuring stable shooting in harsh environments. The Mini prioritizes a lightweight and durable design with a built-in 1,500mAh Enduro battery that cannot be swapped. Note that neither model is compatible with the latest HERO13 batteries.

microSD Card for GoPro HERO11: Max Capacity & Recording Time
Both models support microSD cards up to 1TB, allowing you to store plenty of high-bitrate 5.3K and 4K footage. To fully utilize this massive storage capacity, we recommend packing spare batteries for the Black. For the Mini, since the battery cannot be swapped, utilizing a portable power bank for USB passthrough power is your best bet for extended shoots.
