Features
Redesign from "HERO7"
The most significant upgrade in the GoPro HERO8 is its redesigned body.
- Mount integrated into the body: Mounting without a case is possible.
- Redesigned side door: Easy to swap and mount accessories.
These two upgrades in body design may seem minor visually, but they are significant improvements in practical use.
In terms of shooting performance, except for "HyperSmooth 2.0" mentioned later, it's comparable to HERO7. However, just with 'points—body redesign' and 'HyperSmooth 2.0', it's fair to say there's been a major evolution upgrade.
Featuring HyperSmooth 2.0
The "HyperSmooth" introduced in HERO7 Black has been upgraded to 2.0 in HERO8.
While in HERO7, HyperSmooth was only available with high frame rates, in HERO8, it's evolved to be usable at any frame rate.
Additionally, a more powerful "Boost mode" has been added compared to conventional stabilization.

GoPro HERO8 Battery: Compatibility & Battery Life
Equipped with a 1,220mAh battery. Although it's incompatible with the larger batteries found in the HERO9 and newer models, its compact and lightweight design makes it incredibly easy to slip several spare batteries into your pocket.

microSD Card for GoPro HERO8: Max Capacity & Recording Time
The HERO8 supports microSD cards up to 256GB. While this capacity cap is modest compared to recent models, 256GB is still more than enough to cover the recording time across multiple battery swaps.
