LIT HERO (2025) supports 4K shooting, which HERO (2018) does not. Since it supports 60fps, it is also capable of capturing in 2x slow motion, making its shooting performance more than sufficient for hobby use. On the other hand, HERO (2018) now has lower shooting performance than smartphones, so if you are considering an upgrade, LIT HERO (2025) is a good choice.
In terms of shooting functions, HERO (2018) has built-in standard image stabilization, while LIT HERO (2025) provides additional stabilization through the app.
For hobby use, app-based stabilization is not a problem, but if you want stabilization embedded directly in the footage, keep this point in mind.
